What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelets (blood clotting cells) are available in our blood and their main function is to ensure clotting. These cells contain a large number of growth factors. Especially the platelet-rich part of our blood can be separated and these intracellular factors can be used to improve skin quality. It acts by increasing collagen production and vascularization after intradermal administration. It reduces fine wrinkles on the skin and gives a bright, elastic, and vital appearance. It helps regenerate the skin faster, in case of skin damage after sunlight, UV damage, and skin treatments such as laser or peeling. It is also used to prevent hair loss and strengthen thin hair and increase hair density. It can be applied to the face, neck, décolleté, hands, and scalp. It can be administered to the skin at multiple points by the microinjection method. It can also be combined with a derma pen. First, approximately 10 ccs of blood are collected from the person. This blood is processed with special kits, made ready, and applied depending on the needs of the person. It does not require anaesthesia. The procedure takes about 40-45 minutes. After the application, it is recommended not to wash the face, wear make-up, have a massage, or do movements such as bending and lying for 2 -3 hours. Redness, swelling, and/or bruising may occur in the application sites. For optimum outcome, at least 3 sessions at intervals of 2-3 weeks should be taken. Repeated sessions may be required depending on the needs of the person.
